Money from the cloud
Dropbox has filed with U.S. authorities its intention to pursue an IPO. The filing was made confidentially, but Bloomberg broke the story. The public offering is expected to take place before the end of the first half of this year, though the company must first complete several formalities inherent to the process.
Unlike other technology companies that have recently gone public, Dropbox will arrive on the trading floor already reporting profit on its financial statements – and with annual sales in the range of US$ 1 billion. The company currently holds a valuation of US$ 10 billion.
